How to target Gen-Z and Alpha in your Marketing strategy

Every self-respecting company segments its market. You might not think so, perhaps “my product is for everyone” and as much as you may think this is noble, it is not true.

People are different, you and I are different. In reality, humans are complex and complicated creatures, we have different tastes and different stories. Other companies already know this, but knowing it doesn’t mean they can do it, especially when their target is the new generations

Gen-Z

Reach a target for the Gen-Z it’s difficult. Natives of Generation Z were born between the end of the 90s and 2010, representing an age between 8-24 years. These people experience the evolution of technology firsthand and many grew up learning how to use it. They know they have a voice, and they will use them, whether to promote social causes or demand behavioral changes from companies. Trust me, you don’t want to be their enemy.

Gen Alpha

Generation Alpha are people born between 2010 and 2024. They are considered the newest generation and the first of the 21st century. Still young, these children grew up with the internet fully developed and went through the pandemic. This experience early in their lives solidified the internet into their lifestyle. Do you have a product for this generation and your company is not digital? I think there are some things you need to do.

How to target these generations?

The first question you should ask is, β€œwill these people see my product?”

Think with me, these two generations know the world in the palm of their hands, if your content is boring, they will simply close and go back to their TikTok. Traditional strategies don’t work here my friend, but it’s not the end of the world, we see this as an opportunity to achieve success where our competitors cannot.

Here are the best ways to communicate well with new generations.

Gamification

These generations grew up with entertainment in their veins. They are completely addicted to any form of dopamine the internet can offer and games represent a large part of the time these generations spend. In other words, why not speak the same language as them?

This aligns perfectly with the principle behind Gamification, we will show that we understand the needs of these younger generations and incorporate games into our marketing strategies.

Just put something for these people to play and compete against, your results will skyrocket.

Metaverse

The metaverse is often viewed as a failure attributed to Mark Zuckerberg, but the reality is that the metaverse is already a success among Gen-Z and Alpha people. No, it’s not the metaverse that Zuckerberg created, that expensive and poor-quality copy doesn’t hold a candle to what Gen-z and Alpha achieved.

Grand Theft Auto V

Created by Rockstar in 2013, Grand Theft Auto V is very popular today among young people in Gen-Z. For a long time, this video game was not as accessible to most people because of its high requirements.. Subsequently, these Gen-Z people began to have access to equipment to play these types of games. Many users began to create servers and a community was formed.

The creation of these servers are usually independent projects and are often carried out by people who enjoy it. Although very noble, all this work represents costs, and it is very common for servers to open and close due to lack of resources.

Now think here with me, we have a group of people who are passionate about their virtual environment, but without the resources to support it. I don’t know about you, but I see business here.

Roblox

The Alpha generation grew up with much more powerful cell phones than Gen-Z and has little knowledge of computers. They prefers the Roblox metaverse. Taking advantage of Roblox Corporation’s monetization system that allows users who create metaverses to earn money with their creations, consequently, many companies have already entered the market and identified the best places to spread their brand’s image.

They have more appropriate resources for construction and a system that encourages the creation of new ideas. Our younger generation is growing up knowing everything about the metaverse. Are you going to let these kids know more than you?
